I absolutely love Extended Family Sessions. It is always so fun to see the family come together after being apart for months or sometimes years + pick up right where they left off. It always seems that the cousins never skip a beat. Being the first sibling in my husband's family to move away we get to experience this and it is awesome.
Although this family lives close, they are all still in different stages of life, but seeing them come together was so fun. Cynthia and I have been friends for a few years now and I was so excited when she asked if I would take their family photos.
We were going to take them on the mountain, but the family that came over from the other side said it was only 25 degrees so, we changed it up last minute and found this little spot on the side of the road where the temperatures were slightly warmer and the baby would stay happy.
When I photograph extended families, I always try to give you the most bang for your buck. We photograph any variation you want to have, but I am always sure to capture:
• The entire family together
• Each individual family
• Grandma and/or Grandpa with all the Grandkids
• Grandma and/or Grandpa with all of their kids
• Grandma and/or Grandpa with all of their kids and spouses
• All of the Grandkids together
• Any other variation you wish to have
With most of the extended families I photograph, the kids have split the cost and give it as a gift to their mom for a holiday or event. It is the best way for everyone to get updated family photos for a great price.
I love seeing all of the kids come together + all of their little... or big personalities shine through. Some are more shy than others, but these kids were rock stars for their session!
